A Legacy of Craftsmanship: Three Generations in the Sign Industry

At Frontier Signworks, our story is rooted in a rich legacy of creativity, hard work, and family tradition. As a third-generation sign maker, I bring a deep connection to this industry—one that spans nearly a century.

It all began in Northern Alberta in the 1920s, where my great-grandfather hand-painted signs by brush, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong family calling. My father continued that legacy, operating Collin Artworks Sign Shop out of our garage in Airdrie, Alberta. I grew up surrounded by paints, tools, and the scent of fresh vinyl—a childhood spent learning the craft firsthand.

With over 36 years in the silkscreen industry, my uncle also shaped my understanding of signmaking from a production perspective. This blend of family mentorship and hands-on experience gave me more than technical skills—it taught me the importance of service, integrity, and quality.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary and a Post-Degree Diploma in Marketing Management, I also studied Art and Design at the Alberta College of Art. My professional journey led me into event coordination and marketing—most notably managing Coast Hotels' Grey Cup sponsorship in 2010 while working closely with the Director of Marketing for a major hotel chain in Vancouver, BC.

In 2013, I joined Frontier Signworks and began building something of my own. From graphic design to production, marketing to operations, I've developed expertise across every area of the business.  As of January, 2025, I became the owner of Frontier Signworks and Safety; I bring the advantage of being a familiar and trusted face to many loyal customers.

My passion and dedication are fueled by a commitment to delivering innovative,
high-quality solutions tailored to each customer’s needs;
while upholding the exceptional service and craftsmanship our clients have come to expect.

Exciting Changes Coming Soon to Frontier Signworks

Stay tuned—big improvements are underway at Frontier! We’re implementing a new CRM system to help us respond to quote requests faster and track production more effectively, so you’ll experience even better communication and turnaround times.

You’ll also notice a change in how we present our pricing. Moving forward, all quotes will be clearly broken down by material. Pricing will now be consistent and transparent, based on size, quantity, and intricacy—making it easier for you to plan your projects and understand what you’re paying for.

We deeply appreciate the continued support from our regular customers and are equally excited to welcome new and returning faces as we roll out these updates. These changes are all about serving Brooks and the surrounding communities even better.

Thank you for being a part of our journey—and for growing with us!
